Kim Oceana Nadel

Oceana's mission is to redefine the way we live. Guided by her deep love for Gaia—the Earth—and informed by sacred space principles, she envisions equitable, regenerative places that foster wellbeing, resilience, and a profound connection between people and nature.

A regenerative design strategist, speaker, and consultant, Oceana brings more than 25 years of experience leading interdisciplinary design collaborations that integrate healthy materials, ecological thinking, wellness, and high-performance building strategies. She is a Gaia Education Certified Sustainable Designer (GCSD), a Just Communities Accredited Professional, and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Originally from Canada, Oceana earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Psychology from McGill University and a Master of Science in Interior Design from Pratt Institute in New York City. She also studied Furniture and Industrial Design at Domus Academy in Milan, Italy.

Her career began in New York, where she contributed to landmark sustainable projects, including The Millennium Tower, the city's first green residential high-rise condominium. Hospitality Design magazine recognized her as one of "The Industry 20: Leaders in Innovation and Influence," and she was named Modern Luxury's Eco-Luxury Interior Designer of the Year for Southern California. Her portfolio includes hospitality, residential, wellness, and regenerative community projects, including AVEDA spas and salons nationwide and the Artistree Eco Resort & Conference Center in Northern California.

An international speaker and educator, Oceana served on the graduate faculty of the New York School of Interior Design, where she introduced sustainability into the MFA curriculum. She also co-authored The Green Pages: The Contract Designer's Guide to Environmentally Responsible Materials and Products, a pioneering resource for environmentally responsible design.

Her consulting work extends internationally, from strategic planning for regenerative communities to facilitating collaborative design processes that integrate beauty, equity, ecological stewardship, and long-term resilience. In 2020, she co-led the inaugural Catalyzing Communities for a Regenerative Future workshop in Pátzcuaro, Mexico, bringing together global practitioners exploring new models for regenerative living.

Deeply inspired by the intelligence of nature, Oceana's work extends beyond traditional design disciplines. Her lifelong connection to the ocean and her role as a Dolphin Ambassador reflect her belief that the natural world is one of our greatest teachers. This perspective informs a design philosophy rooted in harmony, intuition, and ecological reciprocity. Complementing her design practice, she incorporates the principles of Vastu—the Ayurvedic science of architecture—and is a Reiki Level II practitioner, bringing a holistic perspective to every project.

Today, Oceana speaks internationally on regenerative design, healthy materials, water, wellness, and the future of intentional communities, including presenting at Greenbuild on Biophilic Design 2022 and on the NEXTStage at KBIS 2026. She collaborates with visionary homeowners, developers, architects, organizations, and communities seeking to create places that heal people and regenerate the planet.
