Boyd Lake Sanctuary

This Northern Colorado residence is a thoughtfully designed sanctuary where architecture meets intention - cultivating harmony between the built environment, the natural landscape, and the family who calls it home. Situated on the waterfront of Boyd Lake with sweeping views of the Colorado Front Range, this new build was envisioned as a place of connection, beauty, and holistic wellbeing.

Designed in close collaboration with the homeowners - who are deeply committed to health, nature, and community - every element of the home was curated to honor the natural world while elevating daily living. From the orientation of the home to maximize mountain and lake views, to the integration of indoor-outdoor spaces, the design encourages a seamless connection with the surrounding environment.

A highlight of the project includes custom kitchen countertops, designed by Heather, to mirror the color and expansiveness of the lake at dawn and dusk - bringing the outside in and reinforcing the home's sensory dialogue with the water and mountains. Oversized doors and windows open fully to a spacious outdoor living area, inviting in natural light and fresh air. This space supports daily practices such as yoga, community gatherings, and cooking with ingredients from the gardens below - also custom-designed to align with the homeowners’ lifestyle and ecological values.

Beyond aesthetics, the home reflects a deeper design ethos. Every material was intentionally selected for its beauty, sustainability, and sensory appeal, resulting in a luxurious yet conscious home. The project stands as a living expression of the homeowners’ vision to integrate life, work, and stewardship with grace.
